This research evaluates the microbiological safety profiles of ready-to-eat grilled chicken drumsticks vended along major roadsides in Igbogene and Tombia. Due to open-air exposure, inadequate temperature controls, and varying handler hygiene, these products frequently act as vectors for multi-drug resistant bacterial pathogens, creating critical public health vulnerabilities.

⚙️ 2. Isolation & Biochemical Workflow

To accurately isolate and enumerate the contaminating microflora, a systematic serial dilution and selective culturing workflow was executed across specialized media variants:

MacConkey Agar (MCA) Selective sorting for lactose-fermenting Coliform/Enteric bacilli profiles.
Mannitol Salt Agar (MSA) Isolation of halophilic Staphylococcus aureus showing yellow halos.
